A Mexican noseband bridle gives the horse significantly more freedom then a regular noseband bride. The Mexican noseband is often used on show jumping and eventing horses as breathing is not affected. Due to the construction of the bridle the horses mouth is not fixed which means the tongue and the jaw always have some freedom of movement.
