For their 1991 major label debut, Mark Lanegan and co called in Seattle
buddy Chris Cornell to produce and, rather than make their grunge
heavier, they instead turned up the psychedlia quotient and their
mellower side (that Mark would later explore to great effect). There's
still some grunge but the band were moving into fresher pastures
before that scene even crossed over into the mainstream.
