Michele Shirakura is a recent Juneauite from California who is enjoying the rainforest and mountainous lifestyle.  She finds that Juneau is a place that encourages her mind to be quiet to enjoy watercoloring to share with others.  Seeing color is a gift that her dad didn't have since he was color blind.  It is a joy for her to explore varying this medium from opaque and bold to transparent much like the various forms of the water Juneau.
