From the small village of Bai Hua Tan, in the Yiwu mountains, we have a sheng that is truly a unique experience and an exciting tea to drink or keep for aging. Harvested in the spring of 2024 and kept loose until pressing in December of 2024.
This tea is produced by the same person that also handles our 2024 Yibang Sheng Raw Pu'erh, as well as the 2024 Yibang White tea. A small production made for Tai Yang Teas, their farm focuses on respecting the leaf material itself and preserving the pickings, while accentuating the flavors through a lengthy fermentation and even a gentle roast during the same time the Yiwu black teas are roasted. A craft of love without a doubt.
The leaf itself smells sweet, jammy, and complex. The first few steeps are surprisingly floral, sweet, fruity, nearly like a white tea. Unless pushed for longer and hotter steeps there is very little bitterness or astringency when compared to other sheng raw pu'erh of this age.
5-7g per 100-120ml gaiwan brew. Recommended 195F 90C. Can also be western brewed or thermos brewed to accentuate the florality of the tea.
