Original to c.1930, this amethyst and diamond flanked solitaire is the definition of class. Set to centre with a large natural purple amethyst with an incredibly rich and saturated colour - an imperial purple, which is evenly distributed throughout the stone. Elegantly claw set with refined split-prong detail.
Flanked by two tapered baguette-cut diamonds of remarkable colour and clarity; F-G, VS. The baguette-cut was an innovation of the Art Deco period, its clean sleek lines perfectly complimented the geometric ideals of the movement. The baguette-cut has a distinctive sparkle, not the scintillation and fire produced by round-cut stones, but rather a 'hall-of-mirrors' effect, light is reflected in long, parallel planes. The effect is a refined, almost architectural look which offers a striking visual contrast to the glimmering amethyst at centre.
The diamonds are in rub-over settings with a linear gallery below. The gallery under the amethyst if far more ornate, it features scrolling motifs that coil to form hearts all the way around the collet. This ring offers lovely coverage across the finger and has thoughtfully been set with a low profile, making it perfectly comfortable and practical to wear.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
