Chia seeds are considered as a 'superfood'. It is nutrient-dense: packed with fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids, protein and antioxidants. Just two tablespoons provide roughly 10g of fiber and 5g of protein.
How to use: Add whole or ground to smoothies, yoghurt or oatmeal. Add to baking. Use as a thickener for soups and gravy. May also be used as a substitute for egg in baking (Mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds with 3 tablespoons of water and leave it for 15 minutes. It will thicken into a gel-like mixture which can be used to replace one regular egg).
