At home in the moist to wet soils of swamps, marshes, and wet prairies of the eastern U.S., native swamp rosemallow produces huge one-day blooms from July to September in shades of white to pink with a red eye. 4-12" diameter blooms are set against large green leaves on 3-7' tall foliage. Requires consistent moisture and will tolerate standing water. Plant 18" apart.
