Usage Notes: This test kit checks for combustion gas leaks from the injector rail check valve or other conditions that allow gas to leak from the injector to the fuel rail. When the engine is varled, the piston moves up on the compression stroke, creating back pressure on the injector. During testing, if the rail check valve is leaking, air will be forced into the rail check valve and fuel rail. The pressure is sensed by a test fixture instead of a measuring actuator. If the manometer is connected to the test fixture, the pressure will be measured as air escapes through the leak rail check valve. If a water container is used instead of a manometer, air bubbles will be seen as air escaping through the leakage rail check valve. Overhead set marks on the damper are used to identify the cylinder that is on the compression stroke, and if changes in manometer pressure or air bubbles are seen, they are used to identify which injector is malfunctioning.
