Our Vivid Air Piston Kit is a complete, all-inclusive upgrade designed to give you total control over your damper’s performance. The kit includes:

• Fluid Focus main piston (no bleed holes)

• Complete compression and rebound valving

• Two wear bands

• Shims 

Why Upgrade?

The stock Vivid Air piston uses two bleed holes that allow oil to bypass the shim stack throughout the entire compression stroke. This creates uncontrolled oil flow and significantly limits how precisely the damper can be tuned.

Those bleed ports become a bottleneck when you’re trying to achieve specific ride characteristics — whether that’s more support, better small-bump sensitivity, or improved  control.

Our redesigned piston eliminates the bleed holes entirely, forcing the oil through the shim stack. This gives you true damping control and dramatically increases tuning ability.

The included shim configurations allow you to build two compression tune options and one rebound tune, a range we’ve validated to work exceptionally well for riders of all sizes and skill levels.

Our valving replaces everything in both the base valve and mid-valve, delivering a compliant initial feel with excellent traction, while remaining supportive and controlled deeper in the stroke.
