Sorcery finds DeJohnette teamed up with a tight crew of virtuosic bandmates, including veterans like Dave Holland and Bennie Maupin. Discursive, meditative, trippy but grounded in tasty grooves, Sorcery is laced with flurries of Hendrix-on-jazz-steroids guitar tones and the ahead-of-it's-time electronic processing of DeJohnette. Jazz Dispensary Top Shelf Series is cut from the original analog tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl in a tip-on jacket at RTI.
