A Māori Koru Pendant Carved from Green Aventurine, Accented by Peridots and an Opal Doublet

Crafted by an unknown Chinese designer from sterling silver with bronze accents, this unique estate men's pendant features a carved piece of sparkling green aventurine, depicting the motif of a spiraling koru. Symbolizing new life, growth, and peace in Māori culture, the koru motif has found a place with many outside of its New Zealand origin, whether it be in the form of jewelry, room decor, or tattoos.

Measuring almost 2.25 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant, the sizable piece makes a masculine statement that is further accented by seven sparkling peridots and one colorful Australian dark opal doublet. The inside of the bail is signed "925 Bronze dream CHINA" by its manufacturer; its inner width measures over 10 millimeters, giving the capability of sporiting a heavy chain.

The bezels holding the gemstone accents appear to be solidly affixed to the aventurine with jeweler's epoxy; while this is common practice for such designs, we suggest to avoid wetting the piece to prolong the epoxy's strength and integrity.
