This “imagined” mineral specimen brooch was inspired by rocks I collected as a child, and specimens such as at The Natural History Museum. I have created a new, completely unique gemstone that takes crystal shapes (such as garnets) and rock textures (such as schist), and morphed them into a new, fun and almost celestial jewel. The colouring pushes the boundaries of reality on earth into something otherworldly. The surrounding silver is inspired by geological shapes, and is chased to emulate layers of rock.
