Trust Inno Sense 2.5 Ring Flexi Soft Bit Slim - A 2.5-ring cheekpiece is a milder version of a 3-ring (Pessoa) cheekpiece. This cheekpiece can be used to create a leverage effect. The lower the reins are placed, the more direct the bit becomes. Compared to the 2,5 Eggbut, the loose rings can move loosely, allowing more movement in the bit and a more indirect effect of the hand’s help. The pressure point lies on the poll, just behind the ears.

2.5 Ring

A 2,5 ring bit is a milder version of a 3 ring (pessoa) bit. With this bit a leverage can be created. The lower the reins are placed, the stronger the bit becomes. An ideal bit for horses that are very strong or hold the bit. Compared to the 2.5 eggbut, the loose rings can move loosely so there is more movement in the bit and the rein aid has a more indirect effect

How it works:

Bits with continuous rings only act on tension. When the reins are pulled, the pressure is passed on to the lower jaw via the tongue. Any pressure on the neck is not created by the bit, but by the noseband.

A restless or inexperienced rider's hand can be slightly cushioned or compensated for by the movable rings. In addition, the horse can lift the bit by tightening the tongue and thereby avoid excessive pressure for a short time by tightening the reins. In principle, ring bridles are suitable for every horse and every level of training and are also recommended for breaking in young horses or for beginners.

When tension is applied to the reins, for Multiring-, 3 Ring-, Gag- & Baucherbits the pressure is distributed to the tongue to the lower jaw first and then to the neck. This gives the rider more control again with horses that are growing strong and withdrawing upwards, because horses usually react by lowering their head when the pressure is applied to the neck.

The effect is even more pronounced with gag bits and 3-ring bits, as the leverage is greater due to the length of the side part and the extended gag cheek pieces through the bit ring. The best effect is achieved when using two pairs of reins. The main rein in the large ring acts on the tongue and lower jaw, the second pair of reins, buckled in the lower ring, can, if necessary, exert pressure on the poll via the cheek piece. For Swivel Bits, the effects are similar to 2,5 and 3-Ring bits but it has a softer effect, as well as a softer action on the jaw. A Swival is a ‘sliding’ bevel bit and presses against the cheek, making it easier to maneuver. A prerequisite for this is of course a practiced and soulful rider's hand.
