A striking citrine cocktail ring. The 7.74 carat oval-cut citrine is claw set with an open back-holing allowing it to interact with the light. The gallery is decorated with rope gold-work all the way around, and the shoulders of the ring split and taper up to cradle the gemstone. Despite these interesting details, the focus centres around the immaculate yellow-orange gemstone. Tests as 18ct yellow gold, circa 1950.
