Why FOB Chooses the "G3" Loom
FOB Factory uses the Toyota G3 shuttle loom (commonly known as G3) to weave denim fabric. This loom is very old, and only a few functional ones remain in Japan. Additionally, there are only a limited number of craftsmen capable of operating and adjusting the G3. It can only weave about 5 meters per hour, which is around one-fifth or one-sixth of the speed of modern looms.



Why invest such effort into using the low-efficiency G3? It's because of the unique texture it creates—denim with distinctive slubs and a rugged, bold look that only the G3 can achieve.





Commitment to American Materials, the Birthplace of Jeans
FOB Factory also places great importance on its cotton, using Supima cotton grown along the Mississippi River in the USA, where jeans originated. Known for its long fibers, Supima cotton produces a soft yet durable yarn with fewer joins, making it a premium material.

The 14oz fabric is thick and stiff at first but gradually softens and conforms to the wearer’s body over time. One-wash processing adds a softer feel compared to rigid denim, offering comfortable wear from the start.





Detailed 2nd Type Design
With front pleats to provide a three-dimensional shape for ease of movement and symmetrical flap pockets on both sides of the chest, this design follows the classic 2nd Type jacket style.



The jacket also features side adjusters with tack buttons, allowing you to adjust the fit around the waist even while wearing it.



Details like the leather patch at the neck, American-made steel buttons, and copper rivets are all original FOB Factory designs.



FOB Factory also pays special attention to the "red selvedge" (commonly referred to as "red ear"), a hallmark of vintage denim.



The major seams feature chain stitching for added durability, and the resulting puckering enhances the overall vintage appeal.
