What is the Warwick Unmarkable Textile and Rug Spot Cleaner?
The Warwick Textile and Rug Cleaner is a non-toxic fibre encapsulating spot and stain remover that eliminates stains and protects textiles and similar compositions without harmful chemicals.

What makes Unmarkable different?
The formula and science applied in the Unmarkable cleaner has been expertly developed to protect and clean fibres using molecular encapsulation without damaging them from the use of chemicals, acids or breakage.

How does it work?
When a textile surface is dirty or stained, the cause of the stain occurs through the process of dirt or soiling binding itself to flexible fibres.
To remove the staining without damaging the fibres, the process of molecular encapsulation is required where the solution will form an encapsulating barrier, trapping the dirt in place, and when cured this barrier will become brittle and fracture with the friction of vacuuming, thus breaking the bond between the fibre and the encapsulated dirt, freeing it to be vacuumed away.

Is it safe?
Yes, the Unmarkable cleaner is fragrance and dye-free, contains no eucalyptus oil which is acidic and can break down fibres, it has a neutral pH ensuring fibre strength and quality is preserved, the formula is water-based and classified as non-hazardous (GHS guidelines), and finally, it is WoolSafe and CleanSeal tested and approved.

Will it remove pet urine, vomit or faeces?
It will help with fresh accidents by neutralising the soiling, but it will not break down the proteins which cause staining. These types of soiling are best treated by a professional service.

Why is the stain not coming out?
Further chemistry may be needed to reverse the damage caused by the spill, this is best done by a professional service.

What stains cause discolouration?
Turmeric, food dye, some types of tea, pet urine, vomit. Anything that has a low or high pH can damage the structure of the fibre which causes discolouration; therefore, the fibre is permanently damaged, not dirty. This may be able to be chemically reversed by a professional cleaner, however it is not guaranteed.

Why is vaccuum regularly required?
Dirt build-up acts like an abrasive sandpaper against fibres (synthetic and natural,) by not removing these regularly the dirt will mechanically break down the integrity of each fibre, and in the process will also reduce the quality of any treatment application. Vacuuming will also remove the buildup of any contamination that can lead to colour loss of the textile.

Why should bleach cleaners be avoided?
Any cleaner that is high in pH (8+) or contains bleach will chemically break down the fibres, as well as remove coloured dyes and treatments.

Will it remove red wine?
Depending on the severity of staining, it is possible to remove wine if the spill is treated quickly. For stains that won’t budge, it is best to use a professional service.

Will it remove a stain that has been there for a while?
It is possible to reduce the severity of a stain that has been in place for a while, however the fibre integrity may be too compromised for the spot cleaner to treat. In these cases, it is best to use a professional service.

Why is there a ring around the stained area?
Water rings may occur due to the fabric or textile containing pre-existing dust and dirt that when mixed with the solution will create additional soiling. Water rings can also result from excess application of liquid, therefore it is best to apply lightly and repeat the process if needed.
