Made in 1886, this Victorian natural ruby and diamond five-stone ring is beyond cute! Set with three natural vivid rubies that have a gorgeously rich and intense crimson hue. The central ruby is slightly larger, meaning the subtle graduation in stone size offers a flattering and well proportioned spread of gemstones across the finger.
The central ruby is flanked by two cushion shape old-mine cut diamonds. The old-mine cut is one of the earliest diamond cuts. Sourced from the historic mines of India or Brazil, these diamonds were completely cut by hand under daylight or dim candlelight and the are prized for their romantic, soft glow as opposed to the harsh scintillation of modern laser cut diamonds.
The rubies and diamonds are both claw-set in an open-back setting with a solid gold gallery featuring finely ridged detail. The ring sits nice and low in profile, making it comfortable and practical to wear - this ring would be the perfect engagement ring or perhaps an alternative to an eternity ring, which can be loved and worn everyday!
Excellent: all stones are secure and well set, with no damage to the mount. Professionally polished and carefully inspected by our workshop, ready to wear and enjoy.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
