An exciting aquamarine and sapphire cocktail ring. The 4.41 carat sky blue gemstone is set in the centre with an assortment of sapphires and diamonds flanking it. Four rectangular step-cut sapphires graduate in size, set on either side of the aquamarine amounting to a total weight of 0.40 carats. Hugging the row of deep blue sapphires are two rows of round-cut diamonds also graduating in size towards the aquamarine and amounting to a total combined weight of 0.12 carats. The interesting use of geometry is very typical of the Art Deco movement, the diamond and sapphire set shoulders lead down to an intricately pierced gallery and open back setting that allow light to move through the ring. The band tests as platinum. Circa 1925.
