An Estate Designer White Boulder Opal Pendant with a Clean Face
Discovered in a small collection of contemporary designer silver jewelry, this pendant made from .950 silver (a step purer than .925 sterling silver) features a natural white Australian boulder opal.
The opal exhibits a "clean face"—meaning that no ironstone matrix inclusions are visible when viewing the front of the stone. Instead, the face of the stone shows a border of solid white opal (also known as "potch") that surrounds a heart of gentle, precious red, green, and blue color play.
Measuring just under 1.5 inches in length, from the top of the bail to the bottom of the opal’s bezel, the pendant makes a lovely statement without overpowering an outfit.
Light wear can be seen along the pendant's handmade bezel and bail. The tip of the opal's top has a minute chip, possibly a result of the manufacturing process. "PINK CITY" is engraved inside of the pendant's bail by the unknown artist.
