Provenance

Crafted in our own workshop using traditional techniques, this beautiful ring has been thoughtfully designed to be cherished for a lifetime. At its centre sits a natural, unheated red spinel, chosen for its exceptional quality and distinctive colour. Personally selected by Sam during his trip to Sri Lanka - the source of the world’s finest spinels - the stone has been responsibly and ethically sourced.

This spinel is the most perfect colour of red, better still than some rubies! It has a deeply saturated and intense pure red hue, best described as cherry-red. The colour is concentrated evenly throughout the stone and it has a lively and brilliant appearance when turned under light.

Spinels are incredible gemstones, formed millions of years ago deep within the Earth, they are particularly durable gemstones with exceptional hardness and aa very bright lustre, making them a very good choice for an engagement ring. Claw-set in an open-back setting, flanked by two round brilliant-cut diamonds both smaller than the spinel and perfectly matched in colour and clarity. The proportions of the gemstones together offers a very flattering distribution of stones across the finger.

The gallery is open and lightly raised to ensure a wedding band can fit neatly along side it. The shoulders elegantly taper to a solid band which comfortably conforms to the finger.

• Hallmarks: Assayed in Sheffield, marked with '14K' and '585' indicating 14ct yellow gold.
