Art Deco designs of the late 1930s started to move away from the intricate geometric forms of the previous decade, and took their inspiration from machinery and architectural forms. Reminiscent of French designers such as Suzanne Belperron and her former employer René Boivin, this ring is a perfect example of this new era, and still appears thrillingly modern – a domed bombé design, set with bands of Old European and carré-cut diamonds, within an outer border of polished platinum. An immensely stylish and very glamorous addition to anyone’s jewellery collection – perfect as a cocktail ring, his diamond marvel is likely to steal the show, but durable enough for everyday wear.
