LBC – Cervical / Endocervical Sampler

The unique specially shaped CerviBrush+ Profile collects material from the ectocervix and endocervical zones simultaneously. Both patient and smear taker will benefit from this single use device. Cells are rapidly transferred to the slide using a rolling action, resulting in an even slide. Cells can be fixed immediately, so reducing airdrying and artefacts.

LBC is now available for clinics using Liquid Based cytology. After collecting the specimen in the usual manner, the brush head can be inserted into the preservative vial and the head snapped off ensuring the laboratory receives the entire sample collected.

Trials conducted at the Queen Elizabeth hospital, Gateshead, UK in 1990 (1) showed that the CerviBrush+ Profile produced a single smear which
was at least as good as two separate preparations made using an Ayre spatula and a conventional endocervical brush.

The brush head is securely moulded into the stem together with an enlarged hexagonal handle for easy rotation.
