Separate the speed sensor connector (you may need to use a small flat head screwdriver to separate the connector). With the ignition on, rotate the rear wheels. The speedometer should read 0. If so, turn off the ignition and proceed to the next step. Otherwise, if the speedometer registers a non-zero speed, you did not disconnect the correct coupler and should look again. 2. After separating the speed sensor connector, plug in both the male and female 3-pole Jefizz hip harness connectors. Make sure the connector is fully seated. 3. Locate the RPM/timing sensor (pickup) connector. The sensor is mounted on the top or side of the crankcase. Follow the cable from the sensor until you find the 3-prong connector. Here are the connector locations for some common models: Monster S4RS: Behind the left side cover under the seat. ST3: On the right side of the engine, zipped to the frame. If you are unsure, check your bike's service manual or ask your dealer for the location of the RPM/timing sensor connector. 4. Pull the large rubber boot back from the plug to disconnect the connector and leave the three wires exposed. 5. Thread the black/green wire from Jefy's Hips through the rubber boot from the back. Make sure the wires do not touch the exhaust pipe or cylinder block. 6. Using the supplied red wire tap connector, connect the Jefy's Hip Black/Green wire to the wire in connector slot position 1. Instructions: Place the unstripped running wire (slot position 1) into the running channel. Close the side cover until it clicks. Cut the excess length and fully insert the unstripped tap wire (black/green) and check the position. Insert the blade (U-Contact) and press down with finger pressure. Then push the U contact all the way in with pliers. Close the hinged top cover.
