Dating to c.1925, this remarkable Art Deco amethyst cluster ring possesses all the bold glamour of the Jazz Age. At its centre sits a gorgeous amethyst, emerald-cut and exhibiting a velvety violet hue. Rub-over set and finished with fine millegrain edging.
Surrounded by a cluster of round old-cut diamonds which follow the octagonal outline of the central amethyst. A second cluster of further old-cut diamonds encircles the inner halo, leading to an impressive cocktail ring with broad finger coverage.
The openwork platinum gallery is exceptionally fine, with delicate scrolling motifs which seem to give the ring a slightly mischievous edge - the perfect companion to a night spent in a jazz bar! This ring was discovered by Sam in Paris during one ofo his global sourcing trips in search of the finest antique rings and gemstones.
Typical of the finest jewels of the 1920s, the design balances geometry with softness. With approximately 2ct of diamonds in total, the ring sparkles from every angle while retaining the romantic character unique to hand-cut stones of the era. An undeniably rare and theatrical jewel, rings like this are simply impossible to recreate today!
Excellent: all stones are secure and well set, with no damage to the mount. Professionally polished and carefully inspected by our workshop, ready to wear and enjoy.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
