Named for the mountain I see from my front door — and the woman who navigated by starlight.

Sacajawea Peak is the highest point in the Bridger Mountain Range. I see it
every morning from my home in Bozeman. It’s the mountain that gave this
company its name — and this bag its soul.

Sacajawea was also the Lemhi Shoshone woman who guided the Lewis & Clark
Expedition through the wild American West, navigating rivers, mountains, and
unmarked territory by reading the sky above her. The Big Dipper was her compass.
That constellation — hand-set in Swarovski crystals — lives on the front flap
of this bag. It sits in a natural opening that formed as the elk hide dried and
frayed, a detail I never planned and could not have designed better if I’d tried.
The hide made room for the stars. I just set them.

The body is walnut brown elk leather — soft, deeply textural, and warm in a way
that no manufactured leather can replicate. Elk hide carries the marks of a life
lived outdoors: natural scars, subtle variations, a surface that tells a story
before you ever carry it. The raw-edged natural leather flap is hand-stitched
with coordinating brown thread. The adjustable crossbody strap is finished with
solid copper hardware and a copper buckle — warm, honest, and built to last.
Inside, a small interior pocket keeps your essentials organized.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece. The elk hide that formed this particular opening
around the Big Dipper is gone. There will never be another bag exactly like this one.

A note about elk leather: Elk and deer hides carry the marks of a life
lived outdoors — natural scars, irregularities, and variations in texture that
make every hide completely unique. These are not flaws. They are the story of
the animal, and part of what makes each bag unlike any other. Water marks on
elk leather typically dry without a trace, and clear leather oil absorbs cleanly.
I recommend keeping this bag away from prolonged moisture and storing it in a
dust bag when not in use.
