Provenance

Originating from the United Kingdom, this piece dates to 1891, the Victorian era.  It is set with three old-cut natural blue sapphires and is further set with two old-mine cut diamonds. 

The stones

• Central Sapphire weight: 0.06ct .
• Central sapphire size: Length 2.3mm; Width 2.3mm; Depth 1.7mm
• Side Sapphire weight: 0.02ct (each).
• Side Sapphire size: Length 1.6mm; Width 1.6mm; Depth 1.5mm
• Total sapphire weight: 0.10ct.
• Diamond size: Length 4.2mm; Width 4.2mm; Depth 2.7mm
• Total diamond weight: 0.04ct.

Band

• Metal Composition: 18ct yellow gold.
• Hallmarks: marked with hallmarks that date the ring to 1891, indicate 18ct yellow gold and trace the ring back to the Birmingham assay office.

The ring overall

• Front Head Dimensions: Length 5.5mm; Width 16mm; Height of setting 1mm
• General Wear: Excellent; wear commensurate with age.
• Condition: All stones secure, safely set with claws fully covering the stone, no damage to the setting. Minor scratches due to age. There are no major marks or scratches that we feel necessary to mention. All of our jewellery is professionally cleaned prior to us listing it.
