NSM Wear is CruWear. Same steel, different name born from a legal dispute over the CruWear trademark that has since been resolved. The resolution means future Chikadees will carry the CruWear name. This batch of 16 knives will always be the ones stamped NSM Wear, which makes them the last Chikadees in existence with that marking.
CruWear is a high-vanadium tool steel that combines edge retention and toughness in a way that most stainless steels cannot match. At 63-64 HRC it is on the harder end of the production knife spectrum, which translates directly to how long the edge holds before it needs attention. The blade is 2.5" with a 2.39" cutting edge and 0.125" stock, a 5" overall length that makes the Chikadee a genuine front-pocket fixed blade.
Featuring Double Black Canvas Micarta handles and a black leather texture Kydex sheath with a black soft loop for belt or pocket carry. Manufactured by Millit Knives in collaboration with JakebCreates. Made in the USA.
Note from Lone Star Knife & Supply: The NSM Wear story is what makes this batch specific. CruWear by any name is a steel worth carrying, and 63-64 HRC in a 2.5" fixed blade is a combination that earns its place in an EDC kit.
The Radio Silence Chikadee in NSM Wear is a compact fixed blade that carries a story. CruWear at 63-64 HRC in a 5" fixed blade with Double Black Micarta and Kydex. This specific stamp will not appear on another production run. Made in the USA by Millit Knives and JakebCreates.
JakebCreates is a handcrafted fixed blade knife operation producing EDC-focused designs built for utility and built to last. The Radio Silence Chikadee is produced in collaboration with Millit Knives, a full-service CNC knife manufacturer based in Idaho.
